1. Liability & Risk Disclaimer

Important Notice

Locksmith services, particularly emergency callouts, lock opening, and automotive key programming, inherently involve certain risks due to the technical nature of the work involved.

1.1 Limitation of Liability

Dee Valley Locksmiths shall not be held liable for any incidental, consequential, or indirect damages arising from the provision of our services, including but not limited to:

  • Cosmetic damage to locks, doors, frames, or vehicle components during emergency entry procedures
  • Pre-existing mechanical faults or wear revealed during service
  • Electronic system malfunctions in vehicles during key programming
  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control

1.2 Acceptance of Risk

By requesting our services, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Emergency lock opening may result in minor cosmetic damage, which is sometimes unavoidable
  • Vehicle key programming carries inherent risks to electronic systems
  • You have been informed of potential risks before work commences
  • Our technicians will always attempt the least invasive method first

1.3 Maximum Liability

Where liability cannot be excluded by law, our maximum liability shall be limited to the value of the services provided or £500, whichever is lower.

3. Health & Safety

Our commitment to safe working practices

3.1 Our Responsibilities

All Dee Valley Locksmiths services are performed in accordance with applicable health and safety regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. Our technicians:

  • Are fully trained in safe working practices
  • Carry appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Conduct risk assessments where necessary
  • Maintain all tools and equipment to safety standards

3.2 Customer Responsibilities

We kindly ask customers to:

  • Ensure safe access to the work area
  • Inform us of any known hazards at the property
  • Keep children and pets away from the work area
  • Follow any safety instructions given by our technicians

4. General Terms of Service

Payment, cancellation, and service policies

4.1 Payment Terms

  • Payment is required upon completion of services unless otherwise agreed
  • We accept cash, debit cards, credit cards, and bank transfers
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise
  • Additional work not included in the original quote will be discussed and agreed before proceeding
  • No call-out fees are charged for our services

4.2 Cancellation & Rescheduling

Emergency Callouts:

  • Cancellations after a technician has been dispatched may incur a call-out charge
  • Please contact us as soon as possible if you no longer require our services

Planned Appointments:

  • Please provide at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling
  • Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) may incur a charge at our discretion

4.3 Proof of Ownership/Residency

For security purposes, we may require proof of ownership or residency before performing certain services, particularly:

  • Emergency property entry
  • Vehicle lockout services
  • Lock changes or rekeying

4.4 Warranty

Parts supplied and fitted by Dee Valley Locksmiths carry a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, or attempted forced entry
  • Normal wear and tear
  • Parts not supplied by us

4.5 Intellectual Property

All content on the Dee Valley Locksmiths website, including text, images, logos, and design elements, is the property of Dee Valley Locksmiths and is protected by copyright law. Reproduction without written permission is prohibited.

5. Governing Law & Disputes

Legal jurisdiction and dispute resolution

5.1 Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

5.2 Dispute Resolution

We are committed to resolving any issues promptly and fairly. If you have a complaint or dispute:

  2. We will investigate and respond within 14 working days
  3. If a resolution cannot be reached, you may seek mediation or legal remedies

5.3 Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
